Raising the standard of apparel in a
Vacation Town.....

After years of screen printing for major corporations in Ohio, and becoming 'empty-nesters', Husband and Wife team Shawn & Victoria decided the time had come to do what so many people dream of doing, and in 2018 they relocated to the gorgeous Great Smoky Mountains.

They very quickly realized that there was an unbeliveable amount of T-Shirt and apparel shops in the area, but everything looked the same, and was only offered on rough, boxy, itchy t-shirts, that are known in the screen printing industry as promotional or 'throwaway' T-Shirts, because the quality only lasts for a couple of washes..... if that - and they knew that they could do something different, something better, something unique.

By working hand-in-hand with US based manufacturer Bella & Canvas, They brainstormed and came up with unique, eyecatching designs drawn by Shawn and offered them on a range of Bella & Canvas super-soft apparel, that is renouned for its comfortable fit and long lasting wear.

In 2021 Shawn & Victoria's daughter, Ashley, joined the family business and used the amazing skills passed down from her dad to create new designs, and work the front end of the store. After 4 years of producing high quality apparel, and perfecting every single part of the process required to deliver that quality every time, The infastructure and methodology was firmly in place to scale the business and open a second location.

Over the course of several months of research and talking to customers, Shawn & Victoria made a short list of desirable locations, and St Augustine FL, was decided to be the best location for store number two, which opened on November 1, 2022.

When you visit our stores, you can meet the people who actually drew the designs, and talk about the inspiration behind them, and then customize your item by chosing the color and style of apparel and the design to put on it. Within 60 seconds your apparel is ready, and you can even wear it immediately!

Shawn & Victoria focus their energy on making sure that everything that leaves their store is perfect, by training their team in every aspect of the production process, and holding each person accountable for the product they produce. Every member of the team knows, if it is not perfect, it does not leave the store. The upbeat, fun and friendly atmosphere in both the Gatlinburg and St Augustine stores create vibes of positivity, and peals of laughter can be heard throughout the hallways of both malls, as the team work with each individual customer to make sure they leave with something that they love, and that fits them and suits them perfectly.

Visiting The Soft Shirt Place is an experience like no other. Even though the locations of the stores are tourist towns, Shawn, Victoria & Ashley look at each and every customer as a friend who will be returning year after year, and genuinely care about the product leaving the store as being a reflection of them personally - The whole concept and environment of The Soft Shirt Place has made the store a 'must visit' for visitors to Gatlinburg and St Augustine who know they are walking away with a quality product to remind them of their visit to their favorite vacation town.
